History & Traditions :
The Siam wood is also known as Pemou or Fujian cypress. For more than 2,000 years, Vietnamese people have used this plant.
Originally from the south-east of China, near the border of Vietnam, it is a large tree of 20 to 25 meters. Once ripe, this tree becomes marked by longitudinal cracks along its bark, emitting a characteristic scent. Because of the excessive exploitation of the tree, it is unfortunately classified as endangered today, and is subject to very strict conservation in Asian nature reserves.
