History & Traditions :

Its name "aspic" comes from the vipers hiding underneath. Lavender appeared in the Mediterranean basin and is now found in eastern Europe. It was used by the Romans to perfume their baths and their clothes. Since the Middle Ages, it is used a lot in perfumery.

Lavender aspic is distinguished from true Lavender by a high content of Eucalyptol and camphor. It grows in the form of shrubs with a small stem (30-40 cm), with purple flowers in very fragrant cobs. It is found in a sunny and limestone environment, between 0 and 600 m altitude.
