The almond tree began was first found in France in the sixteenth century, before spreading throughout the temperate zones. But it had long since seduced the Greek world who saw in the almond milk and a strong symbolic image of fertility. It is renowned for its delicious smell similar to that of orgeat syrup. It is primarily used in cooking to flavor pastries (frangipani, ice creams, custards ...).

Rustic fruit tree with reddish bark of 5 to 6 m tall with oval leaves finely toothed and sharp at the top. It is found in Morocco and Europe.
