History & Traditions :
Wintergreen or Gaultheria is native to the forests of China and Nepal and has been used by Amerindians for centuries for its virtues.
It is a heather of about 15 cm composed of white flowers turning into red berries in October. Its leaves are thick, oval and dark green color up to 5 cm.
It is found under two different names: Gaultheria procumbens or Gaultheria fragrantissima, but its composition and properties are similar.
