History & Traditions :

Tagete, originally from South Africa or Madagascar, but also from Egypt, is widely used in perfumery as a leading note. The name Tagete comes from Tages, character of mythology and grandson of Jupiter who was born of the work of the earth like this plant.

It is a bushy plant, presenting itself as carnations of India. Its leaves are deep green in color, they are fine and long. Its flowers are orange to yellow and form a beautiful sphere at the tip in different stems.
