The Roman chamomile is also called noble Chamomile. Its name comes from the Greek "Khamaimêlon" which means "apple of the soil" because of the smell of apples that emerges from the ground when walking on it. It represented the sun in ancient Egypt and was dedicated to the god Ra. It is a perennial herb plant 10 to 30 cm tall. Originally from Central Europe, noble chamomile is now grown in Italy, France, England, Switzerland and Belgium. |
