History & Traditions :

Lavandin has been cultivated in France and Spain by humans since the last century. It is simply a cross between true Lavender and Spike lavender. It is now the most cultivated species because it has an excellent yield of essential oil.

The lavandin is in the form of shrubs with purple flowers on the cobs. It is a sterile plant that is reproduced by cuttings, hence its uniform color in the fields. It is found in a sunny and limestone environment.
