The Juniper grows on the mountainous soils of Europe. A long time ago, the berries were burned to fight against epidemics. The legend says that Hippocrates used them in Athens to fight the plague. The berries were still used burned in the 19th century in hospitals. The juniper is a shrub up to 15 cm high. Their berries are green in color and turn blue-black at maturity. They are surrounded by needles. |
