History & Traditions :

 

Calophyllum, originally from India and Asia, especially from Vietnam, is widely used for its healing properties. It also secretes latex. It comes from the word "takamaka" meaning odorant resin.

The tree is 20 meters high with a margin diameter of 35 meters with its foliage. Its leaves are dark green, they are thick, long and smooth. Its flowers are white with large petals and yellow and long stamens.
