History & Traditions :
For more than 400 years, the buchu has been used by the native people of South Africa as a medicinal plant and to protect themselves from insects.
It is a shrub about one meter in height whose roots grow clinging against the rocks to recover moisture. Its persistent aromatic leaves have a rounded shape hence the name buchu round. The buchu comes from South Africa, especially from the Cape region.
