History & Traditions :
The Aztecs and other Indians of the Americas used artemisia for rituals. It is to Artemis, the lunar goddess of the Greeks, who merges with the Diana of the Romans, that the artemisia owes its learned name and its current name, which is, moreover, only a distortion of the preceding one. It’s a herbaceous plant with woody and branched stems of the family Asteraceae, from 30 to 50 cm, its leaves are small silver-colored. It grows in North Africa, especially in Morocco. |
